Grant Work

The pandemic prompted me to teach.

I have been teaching at-promise & low-income students for years – with Second Chance San Diego, the Juvenile Court and Community Schools, Hoover High School, the San Diego Libraries, and fellowships funded by the San Diego Foundation.

I started as a teacher, and quickly took up admin duties. I was the point contact for the funders, making sure that their metrics are fufilled, and doing the reporting on the results of the programs.

Communications

I left full time teaching and joined Maraya Performing Arts, a arts non-profit, their I performed communication duties – grant writing, photo-video, reporting, etc. – we were able to accrue some $300K in grants.

I continue my education work – teaching kids to connect social issues to media production is way too fun for me to ever give it up.
